Getting there
Tohickon Family Campground was our first destination on our journey. Getting to the campground was not bad with our rig. However, make sure that you don’t drive through the covered bridge right outside of the campground. If you are over 12 feet tall, take the roundabout route instead. If you use Google Maps, you will see the covered bridge marked on it just by the entrance.
Site
We were parked at site 7. Parking was very easy for us as there was a lot of space around. The sites are very close together and are quite small, so do not expect much privacy at the campground. We were lucky enough not to have any immediate neighbours, so it did not feel condensed.
Mobile signal
- Verizon: none
- ATT: limited to calls
- T-Mobile: strong enough reception for working
Campground offering
The sites on their own are small, but the campground has a lot going on. There is a small store, which sells camping supplies and a few snacks. There is a decent-sized pool, which helped during the heat, with the lower end being 3FT, which is perfect for our 4year old. The campground also offers a game room, which we have not used, so we cannot comment much on that topic.
Showers and toilets have seen better days, and we chose to use our RV shower instead. However, it was not too bad. There is also an option to do your laundry within the campground, which we did take advantage of.
There is a river next to the campground with a lot of wildlife, which kept the children occupied. There is also a playground with giant legos!
